It's always an awkward situation. You did a pretty good job, and encouraging her to go make something of her life was probably the best thing you could do. As far as what to do now.... got me there. Usually I go with the straightforward "I don't like you like that," or "I'm not interested," just because the ambiguity never solves anything. Then again, the last person I tried to let down easily ("I don't like meeting random people off the internet") didn't seem to take the hint, so I don't really have anything to back me up :(

But I completely understand where you're coming from as far as the whole roommate thing. I mean, you still have 7 months to live there and you don't want to make it awkward. Idk honestly. I mean, if you say you don't like her like that, then you need to tell her that straight out. I am with Jill on this, I think you just need to be straight forward and tell her how you feel. Besides, I think she sounds kind of.... idk, damaged right now? Idk if that's the word to use, but she and Bill broke up a couple of weeks ago (I assume) and you don't wanna be a rebound guy, so yeah.... idk, i hope everything works out though. :)

oh you asshole. how dare you point out that i thanked her. lol. no it is funny. again i was really shocked and super flattered right then that i wasn't exactly thinking straight. and to be truthful i really am thankful there are women out there attracted to me. its a lame thing to say, but an honest emotion, so whatever. and as far as the thing about me making a move, again i am not even sure i like her like that roommate shit aside. like even if he wasn't my friend, i still don't think i would be attracted to her, but because he is my friend and roommate, its definetly not gonna happen, cause the dude is still in love with her. and he is incredibly cool, and im sure if i wanted to, he wouldn't be happy, or encourage it, but im sure he wouldn't be as much of an asshole as he could be. but thats the point, i am not really interested, so i don't want it to happen. i actually want them to get back together, but that prolly won't happen
