scheduling conflicts

Sep 14, 2009 21:23

I, for all intensive purposes, am an independent contractor. This comes with great freedom- I make my own schedule, I can pick and choose who I work for and what jobs to work, I am pretty damn marketable...
but at the same time there needs to be work for me to pick and choose from. And sometimes the work overlaps...

I am a stagehand.
and this is what I do. )

work, gta, stagehand

I'm fascinated that you're a stagehand. I've always been interested in learning to be one, but I have the idea its very tough work for chicks. Which I still believe, because I think you're way tougher than me.

I'm also fascinated that you have a job I've never heard of before (GTA).

The scheduling conflicts and rate of payment are two of the things that are making it really tricky for me to make even a first step toward GTA work. When I spoke with Isle, she made it clear to me that GTA work could not stand in place of a regular fulltime job....not that I'd expected it to, but if I'm gonna do it while I'm working somewhere else, I need to know in advance when I'm working. Ugh.

Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on how to make your options work together. Keep rockin on, lady.
