The kingdom I have made of your bloodshot smile... [locked to Ronnie]

Now that Tosh can leave the basement, she's a little desperate to do so. It's not like she minds staying inside for long periods of time, but knowing that she's stuck somewhere for any extended period of time tends to make her claustrophobic ( Read more... )

Ronnie's got a certain ringing in her ears and an edge to her that usually isn't there, all because of a certain little gathering of demons. Elasthe could take his sanctuary and shove it up his perfectly charming ass as far as she's concerned.

Then again, she's always had this thing with authority.

Seeing Tosh is a breath of fresh air, however. She lights a cigarette and falls into step beside her. "Not out experimenting today, are you?"

It's gotten far too easy with Tosh, honestly. It usually is after awhile.

Tosh glances over her shoulder at Ronnie, somehow managing to not jump when she first hears her voice, and smiling a little when she recognizes Ronnie. She likes her (even if for some reason every time she sees her, Tosh has an emotional meltdown of some sort... that's so not the point).

"No, I just had to... get out. It's been a long week."

"I hear that," Ronnie mutters, frowning.

What? Demons have bad weeks too, especially when they involve Calisto's nuclear meltdown on top of a new overlord she doesn't much care for.

"Want to talk about it? You know my ears are always open."

Of course, you want to talk to me. I'm a friend. I actually listen to you. I know you exist

Really, really easy.

Tosh wraps her arms around herself against the wind and glances over at Ronnie, hesitating for just a second. But there's that tugging at her emotions, that she never even notices, and it all comes spilling out as usual.

"Everything's just sort of... fallen to pieces. A lot of people got hurt, and there's nothing we can do about it..."

There's nothing she specifically can do about it. Sure, she made the panic buttons, she made sure the elevator was fixed as quickly as possible, but anyone could have done that, really (well, maybe not anyone, but it certainly didn't require all of her considerable talents), but it's more or less useless in the grand scheme of things.

Isn't the point of being in Torchwood that you actually get to be useful when no one else would be able to do anything?
