And I'll Find Strength In Pain, And I Will Change My Ways [Open; Grant Park]

Tyler's not sure what's going on. He feels breathless as he comes to. The last thing he remembered was passing out after a transformation. His mother is supposed to be helping him help rescue Caroline. But his mother isn't here. And this definitely isn't the caverns beneath the Lockwood estate either ( Read more... )

Poor Tyler. It's bad enough that it was that wolfy time of the month for him before he fell through, but to wander around half naked in Chicago during the winter has to just add to that. Jeremy is more than glad to help him cover up. The loincloth incident made him appreciate clothes all the more.

Jeremy shoves his hands into the pockets of his jeans as Tyler grabs hold of it. It's good to cover him up somewhat, and he grimaces at the question. He has no idea how people from home keep ending up here, all at once, but he stifles the confusion and paranoia to focus on the question ( ... )

"Really? You mean you didn't think you'd be in Chicago today? Here I thought you were completely prepared." Jeremy's joking obviously since there is no way to know. No way for any of them to know.

He nods in answer to the question. "Yeah, that's what you have to keep in mind, man, about everything here. New stuff, all the time."

"I know, it's because I seemed so calm and obviously not surprised to suddenly be here." And Tyler's joking back. Which means he's at least marginally less freaked out for now.

"And I thought Mystic Falls was bad at the constantly new stuff to deal with gig."

"Yeah, exactly. Not surprised or confused at all," Jeremy says, smirking as he steps into the Tower lobby and walks over to th front desk where keys for the rooms are handed out.

"Chicago's worse, but at least not every new thing can kill you here.... and at least it affects everyone in the city." Not just their small group.

"Worse? Than Mystic Falls?" Tyler raises a skeptical brow at that concept.

"I wouldn't have thought that possible."

"Worse in the new things department, not in the horrible department. Mystic Falls holds that crown," Jeremy says making a face. It possibly holds that crown forever.

He gets Tyler a room key and a map from the front desk and then hands it to him. "Welcome... to the Tower, man."

"Well, good to know I can expect a little less of the horrible here, at least," Tyler says with a shrug of his shoulders, taking the key and map from Jeremy.

"Thanks. I think."

"Yeah, hopefully. I have my fingers crossed anyway," Jeremy says, grimacing slightly as he knows. He knows that Chicago has its troubles too. There are monsters. There are people who think they don't belong here, that they should be destroyed if they can't be sent home.

"No problem. It's right next to Caroline's so you can see her and then... pass out or something. After you sleep, you should get a journal? You can use that to contact anyone you want. Including me or Elena."

"Passing out sounds good right about now." He's still pretty exhausted from his last shift. Not to mention how jarring being here is and all. He's not sure how much sleep he got before showing up here, but he doubts it was very much.

"Can I pick up these special journals anywhere, or what?"

"Yeah, i thought so. Journey through the rift is... rough." Rough is putting it lightly, but it's about all he has in the way of describing it.

"It should just appear by your head. When you wake up after you sleep, it'll just... be there. It's weird, I know, but it's magic or something." It's not like this is their first experience with magic after all.

"Yeah, that's one way to put it." Tyler says with a shrug. He's not sure how to better explain it. But between that and his recent transformation, he's definitely both sore and exhausted. A rest sounds good.

"You're right, that does sound weird." But no weirder then some of the stuff that happens at home. So he can buy it.
