tale as old as time

Nick Andros is spending his morning juggling apples off one of the many apple carts that seem to have shown up around Chicago. This particular cart is on a street near the Kashtta. He's not very good at it, more than one apple is at his feet from being dropped and he can't seem to get a rhythm going if he tries more than three, but he'd been trying ( Read more... )

Flack is starting to get used to the armor.

He's not sure if he should be happy about that or not.

He's still compelled to ask everyone if they need help, but sometimes, no asking is needed. When it comes to a dragon standing in the middle of Grant Park, the necessary response is obvious.

Not that Flack has any idea how to slay a dragon, but he's willing to try, at least. Man, he wishes he still had his gun. He draws his sword and moves up alongside the guy on the horse with a frown.

"You got any idea where to start?"

Help is probably a good thing. Not that the lack of it seemed to be stopping him, but help makes it more likely that this is actually going to end well.

"Aim for the soft spots?" Peter offers, shrugging. He's not entirely sure what he's doing either, but there has to be some vulnerable spots. "One of us could try to distract it."

Flack considers that for a moment, and it doesn't really seem like that terrible a plan -- at least not for the most part. He eyes the dragon skeptically, before turning back to the guy on the horse.

"You go right, I go left?"

He nods briskly, only glancing towards the other for a second. It seems like a good idea not to look away from the fire-breathing clawed monster for longer than that.

"Count of three," he suggests, shifting his grip on his sword and tightening his hold on the reins. "One... two... three."

On three, Flack breaks from Peter's side, hoping that the shininess of his armor distracts the dragon long enough that Peter can get to the other side of him. If not, he is probably going to have to make the charge himself, and he's not sure if he's confident enough with his sword to manage that.

But at least he's going to have to try.
