Seated on one of the couches in the Kashtta's lounge is Dave, who is currently reading up on some magical history.
The book on the table in front of him is really, really large, and extremely old.
Seated on the nearby couch is Gilderoy, who just can't seem to figure out how the remote works. He's familiar with television, of course, but as far as he'

She'll come up with a question, really.
For now she'll just stare.

If there's one person who can fix this, it's Hermione.
Gilderoy, forgetting the whole "peacocks can't really fly" thing, tries to do so over to Hermione.
So, Hermione.
How's it feel, getting hit in the face by a fabulous bird?

Hermione is trying to back away but she isn't fast enough.
How was she to know the darned thing would fly at her? She gets a peacock to the face, smack dab in the cheek.
She falls to the floor at the impact.
"Ugh!" she says, trying to bat it away. The nerve! "Would you sit still?"
A LITTLE HELP HERE, DAVE.

His eyes take in the bow and arrow sets, and the apple. She really means business. Not that he doubted it, but now he's certain.
"I really hope I don't regret this."

She has to admit, even though she'll hate herself for even thinking it later, he does make quite a lovely peacock. (Probably helps that he can't talk.)

You are absolutely correct, Veronica.
Except then he starts to flail and make loud peacock noises because OH MY GOD HE IS A BIRD WHAT. He flaps over to her, wings all aflutter. Help?
