[OOC: You got it, folks. Another party post. Threadhop like it's your birthday. Drink, brawl, bond, dance, angst, be merry.]
To the unsuspecting eye, it's just an old soap factory that's been abandoned for longer than it was ever found useful. To those that are in the know, Josef Soltini and Nikolas Demidov are opening its doors tonight to the

He's actually not bored at all. His eyes are watchful, keeping a close lookout for any trouble. It's not like he'll bother to stop trouble, depending on the who and the what, but he wants to know what's going on. He wants to know what's going on beyond the trouble, too. It's more than the opening of the doors, really.
He's drinking sparkling water, as he has no interest in having any of his senses slowed or dulled by alcohol.
Music and drinks are flowing, and more and more are walking through the doors. There are very few who will that will keep his interest, and he's watching carefully for them. Everyone else gets the look he's wearing now ( ... )

Still, Josef hasn't forgotten the strange way his uncle has been acting lately.
Almost as if...happy.
Nikolas doesn't do happy. Not unless there's impending doom somewhere for someone else.
"You could look a bit more interested, uncle."

Josef seems annoyed, which is enough to lift Nikolas's mood considerably. Of course, he's already in a good-enough mood, though he'll be in a better one once a certain person arrives. If they don't, he'll be notably cranky, alas.
He looks around, his eyes stopping only momentarily at the door before looking away again.
"Things seem to be going rather well."
Nikolas takes a drink of his water and looks around again before forcing a smile. It looks entirely natural. "Don't you agree?"
Reply
He takes a sip of his drink. Slowly, coolly.
"It does. It's gotten attention, which is what matters." Josef shrugs. Whether it's a hit or whether it bombs, Josef...is hard to rattle in that respect.
His reasons for agreeing to making business with Nikolas are others. One that has nothing to do with the club at all.
"Anyone I should keep an eye out for?"
Nikolas will know what that means, even if no one else does.

She's biting down on her lower lip, excited as she explores the whole club with her very shiny VIP card clutched between her hands. It's another world to her. She's never been in a club before or even a bar before, never been around so many people at once except at school. And she does feel very shiny and special carrying around that card.
Of course, the line that she got to cut in to get in gave her weird looks. Some were wondering who she was that she got to skip like a famous person. Others were mad that she had a free pass to not have to wait.
It is shiny though, and she's carrying it around like she expects someone to question her right to be here and then she'll flash the VIP card in their face. She totally belongs, and even if she doesn't, there's a smile on her face, happy and ( ... )

That doesn't change the fact he actually doesn't enjoy being surrounded by so many people.
Half of which he thinks are mindless idiots.
He's been waiting for Elizabeth, and when he sees her wearing the dress he bought her, he's doubly pleased. Josef struts over to her--yes, struts--and places a kiss on her cheek.
A warm hand finds hers, icy cold to the touch, and he twirls her around once. "You look beautiful."

Her hand tightens on his, and she nearly forgets about the VIP card. It's in her other hand. She twirls and then laughs.
"Thank you! You did pick out the dress," Elizabeth reminds him and then moves in close, looking him up and down appreciatively herself. "You're looking... all hot yourself."
Why is she blushing? He knows he's hot. He knows that she knows he's hot. Oh, she'd facepalm at herself if she wasn't so happy.
"And I like your club! What I've seen of it so far. It's very... club-like. I think people are enjoying it."

He honestly wouldn't want to be seen beside someone that doesn't look good. He's an asshole that way.
"I had a feeling green would look very good on you, and I wasn't mistaken." He brings her closer and she moves in simultaneously.
The smirk widens at her blush. Some things are never going to change, and that's good when it comes to Elizabeth and her reactions to him. "I'm glad you think so," he says to her in a low whisper.
It's hard to tear his gaze away from her, but he manages, scanning the main level while she does. "I think so, too. It's fuller than I expected it to be. Looks like people need the chance to unwind now more than ever."
Knowing Chicago, Josef may be on to something.

And it's not regular bar fights that she's thinking of when she thinks that something could go wrong. It's the bigger issues. She's in a dress, which is only made comfortable by the solid feel of the gun in the holster pressed against her back.
She's wandering through the levels with a drink in her hand at all times. Some times she slips into that stranger that doesn't feel. She came here alone, and it's easy enough to manage, to be the person that doesn't care.
It's not that she makes a habit of it anymore. It's simply easier.

Not on purpose. It just tends to happen.
"HI! I'm Trin, Trinity McFasater but you can call me Trin. Man, isn't this place great? What are you drinking? I like beer. And the color pink. And this PLACE! It's so great to have a nice place like this to come. Where did you get that dress, it looks CAPITAL A, AMAZING. And you look fucking GORGEOUS, I would totally date you if I was into girls, but I'm not. BUT IT'S NOT YOU, IT'S ME. How are you? Hi?"
Desperate? Nooooooo. Not here.

"Hi Trin. I'm Martha. It's a very nice place. At the moment, I'm drinking a Long Island Iced Tea. Can't remember where I bought the dress. Thank you very much. If you were into girls, I'd likely be happy to date you," she says, and the smile widens a bit so it's impossible to know whether she's being serious or not.
She raises her glass in the girl's direction.
"How are you?"

"Martha! That's great. Awesome to meet you Martha. You know I used to have a great aunt named Martha. I think. We never really talked to family growing up, but I think I used to get Easter cards from her. And DUDE. Long Island Iced Tea sounds like, super duper yummy right now. Maybe I'll have one after I finish off this beer. That sounds like a great idea, actually."
For a moment she looks towards the bar, almost hopefully, but then she turns back to Martha to continue their discussion.
"Seriously though it's totally adorable and looks great on you. And aw man, now I almost wish I were into girls because you look smokin'. Seriously. You look great." She takes a long swig of beer, to moisten her throat or something before continuing her answer.
"I'm GREAT. Which is great. I mean, this place is just so totally bitchin' it's HARD to not feel great in here."

But that's beside the point. The point is, this one's decent, and it appears to be supernatural only; at least, he's pretty sure nobody here is mundane, even if he doesn't have his wings out. Having his wings out while dancing would just be a pain in the ass, as much as his back is itching. He's used to the itch at the clubs ( ... )

Including Kaden.
Her introduction isn't necessary as she dances in his direction, her grin huge and dog-like. She slides in and giggles, body still moving.
"HI!" she finally shouts above the din of the crowd. "I'M TRIN!"
The narration is so sorry, Kaden.

So he moves closer, leaning into the dance so he doesn't have to shout as much as she is -- though really, no amount of space closed between them will make it so they don't have to shout. It's still a good enough excuse as any ( ... )

You know what else makes Trin happy? Alcohol. So when Kaden offers the quick drink run, Trin just laughs. "Do I want a drink? I would love a drink. Let's go."
Plying Trin with alcohol possibly makes her stick around FOREVER, so good luck with that, Kaden.

The nightmares are back. It's impossible to sleep. She's sending her son away. She screwed up the only conceivably healthy relationship she's ever had. She just wants to stop feeling. So right now, she's going to drink enough so she can only feel what Kaden's feeling.
Because that's always a lot less.
She's dressed to the nines, at least. Tiny red sleeveless dress with matching tie-up stilettos. She feels wrong, letting herself feel sexy after what happened, but at least it's something she can control about her life. She'd look a lot better if she didn't look miserable, though.

She glances sideways after ordering, notices Jessi (as that's how they were introduced), and grins immediately, very happy to see her. Last that she heard, Jessi was stuck under rubbble and then was out again, but still. It's good to see her.
"You look beautiful!" And then she stops, frowning as not even she is so imperceptive to not notice the miserable there too. "And sad. You look sad. Are you okay?"

"My boyfriend just left town, I'm going to have to give up my son, my ward is dancing with some slut, and I am not nearly drunk enough," she says after a short pause, poking her empty glass. Well. She's apparently drunk enough to dump everything on her brother's currently little girl thing of choice. Why isn't she good enough for him? Why does he need to seek out people like Elizabeth. "But thank you. You look nice yourself."
Reply
Ouch. So that like totally explains it all.
"Okay. You're definitely not okay," she says, and her frown deepens as she watches her. The concern hits deep, and she doesn't have to be close to someone to care and worry about what they're going through. "Do you want another drink or something? I can get you anything for free. Or you can talk about it if you wanna. I can listen. I'm a good listener, and it might help if you talk. I don't know."
And then she jumps off her seat to try to give her a hug. A hug seems like it's the best way to go.
