Jo is indeed the bartender for the night. She's not the kind to do...Karaoke. Bars in the middle-of-nowhere with a beat up jukebox are more her thing. But a job's a job and serving people drinks is something she's turned into an artform, practically. She's been bought drinks along with some orders, and Jo's been accepting them every now and then.

She normally wouldn't, especially when it involves tequila, but the singing ain't stellar, okay? There's basically one way to deal with people singing like cats are jumping off the Empire State Building and howling as they go.

That involves drinking a little.

She's still got a steady hand and if you order something, she'll get it to you right away.

Matoi stares at Jo.

Then she stares at her a little bit longer.

Quite possibly, Matoi stares even a bit longer than that.

Ami is most certainly not going to be doing karaoke tonight. But she's perfectly content to sit back with a small smile watching other people. It's not that her voice isn't any good -- she's a decent enough singer. It's more of an issue of standing up in front of people and singing.

It was a lot easier to do these kinds of things when she had friends. But she doesn't even know how to build friendships outside of destiny at this point. Sure, she's found a few people here and there, but those are just like the friendships she's always had that fade soon enough.

Still, it's nice watching from the outside sometimes.

Phoebe's going around each and every table, meeting those she hasn't met before. They're all familiar faces at this point, but she hasn't personally introduced herself.

There isn't a shy bone in her body most of the time.

It's why she's able to sit down in Ami's table, with her fruity drink in hand, flushed cheeks after singing a hardcore rendition of If It Makes You Happy.

"Hi! Don't wanna join in?"

There is a surprise in the room. A surprise for one Martha Jones. He didn't tell anyone he was coming. He didn't even tell his agent he was taking this little trip.

That explains why is cell phone won't stop ringing. He turns it off for now. No need for any of that.

"Lady Martha," he says, giving her a smile. "May I offer my condolences, and perhaps a drink?"

Of course he has a rum and coke in hand for her. He just wouldn't be a gentleman otherwise.

Martha stands up immediately at the sight of him and the sound of his voice. It's so unexpected, and she simply shakes her head in disbelief for a moment.

"Will," she exclaims, ignoring the drink and wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug.

She ignores the condolences as well.

What is she supposed to say? There are so many dead and gone. She feels their losses still, deep within her chest, and nothing will change that emptiness.

"It's so good to see you," Martha says. Her voice is more than a little strained from emotion. She swallows past the tight lump in her throat and pulls back the tears. "It really is."

"It is always a pleasure to visit you," he says. "I only wish it could be more often."

He hugs her back. Right now, he's more than happy to be here for her. Someone needs to be. He should have been here the entire time, he realizes. But he couldn't be. William has had other things he needs to take care of, beyond the woman he loves, but can never be his.

So for right now, he'll just hold her. Hope that maybe he can make up for all of the lost time. The fact that he was gone. The fact that he should have done more for her. But tonight, he hopes to make some of that up. He hopes to make it up to her and to the entire community.

"I wish you could too, but you're out there, sharing your work with others. It's important. I'm glad for you."

Martha does not look at it that way at all. She doesn't think that he should have been here the entire time at all.

Sometimes it's important to get out, to move on. Shakespeare is the most creatively talented individual that she has ever met. She would hate to hold him back here in this city, because he felt he should be there for her.

After a moment, she pulls back to have a proper look at him. A smile spreads over her face, and she presses a finger into his chest. "You didn't tell me that you were visiting the city! Please, join me for a while."

She reaches for the rum and coke at long last. "Think I'll have that drink now." Martha raises the glass in his direction. "Very thoughtful of you."

There's lightness in her voice but sincerity too. She's so thankful to see him and to be reminded of who she once was.

Aislin is jazzed. It's been something like five years since she's been to karaoke. The last time she got up on stage, she sang Wham's Last Christmas in March. She's not particularly fond of the song or anything, but she likes 'W's, Wham starts with a 'W', and she couldn't sing the Beatles.

It just wouldn't have been right.

But, she's here and she's decked out in one of her awesome pairs of sunglasses.

Max has come with her to this shindig. She's extra jazzed because he's got his matching pair of shades. She's digging the look.

Now, she wants to hear some singing. She might even get on up there and belt out a tune, too.

Max is also digging the look.

He's definitely going to do some singing, but first, he requires food. And possibly some alcohol. So Aislin will soon find that Max is tugging at her arm, urging her over toward where the food and booze is.

He won't have to tug much. Food is good.

She goes right with him and starts making a fill-up, so to speak. As she does, she's dancing to the music coming down from the stage.

It's probably supposed to be a Stones song, but she can't really tell. It's getting killed. She's in such a damn good mood, though, it's not really bugging her.

She'll follow you to sit wherever now, Max. She can't talk, though. There's a baby carrot in her mouth. Mmmm.

They could probably pass for twins, what with the sunglasses and the dancing and the plates full of food.

Max will probably do some song-killing of his own later. But for now, he's located a table near the sort-of-bar and is plopping down in a chair. "This," he announces, "is awesome."

Fletch and Richard eventually show up. Fletch is there because he's in the mood for some partying; Richard's there because Elizabeth asked and guilt is a very good motivator.

"So!" Fletch announces to the room at large, striking a pose. "I hear someone ordered a double dose of sexy."

What this means: the party may now officially begin.

Sunshine looks at Richard. Then she looks at Fletcher. Then she looks at Richard. Then she looks back at Fletcher.

"So where's the other sexy?" she asks, knocking back the last of her drink. She needs another one of those. She's really just here for the liquor. And she likes making a fool of herself in front of crowds. But mostly liquor. "Cause I only see one piece of hot ass here."

Richard looks at Sunshine with a raised eyebrow.

He tends to ignore comments about his apperance. For some reason, however, he wants to know who she's talking about. In terms of not being sexy and all.

Fletch blinks at Sunshine.

"And since I generally do not go for women who look like they've been vomited on by giant boxes of crayons, you get to spare yourself the heartbreak."

He's gonna of over here, now.
