[backdated to Christmas, locked] something that you said will stay with you

Huck is prowling the Kashtta. She was hanging out with the TV and what's left of her Pack in the room they took over in the Tower, and she knew she shouldn't have checked the journals even if the creepiness of the place sets her on edge. But she did, and apparently Jason was being an idiot. So she left Jon and Billy in the room with very little ( Read more... )

Suzie's been prowling the halls, herself, periodically checking her journal, and when she sees the wolf...

"...Huck?"

She doesn't know all the shapeshifters, but a wolf... Well, it's a rational assumption.

Huck had originally dismissed Suzie as another Tower inhabitant, because she didn't smell like J or Mac, but when she hears her name, the ears swivel 'round, quickly followed by head.

What? is the pretty clear expression for a second, and then she realizes that hey wait, she doesn't actually know what that Suzie person looked like or anything. So she trots a little closer, careful to look as nonthreatening as an almost-full-grown, slightly annoyed timber wolf can look.

Yer th'one that wrote that entry, ain'tcha? ...is what she would say if she could, but now it's more just wary but friendly sniffing.

"I'm Suzie," she says, giving Huck a little nod of confirmation.

Suzie smells like scented soap (faint and unobtrusive enough to be undetectable to a human more than a foot away from her) and sweat, and a bit like metal, with very little in the way of chemical-laden artificial scents on her. She's picky about these things, Suzie is. But layered thickly over all of that are chemical distress cues -- she's been angry and afraid ever since the Master's journal post, and J just exacerbated things. For all that she only looks concerned right now, the distress is easy enough to smell.

There are also traces of dog!J on her, but not much.

"He was in my room when he bolted. I can take you up there if it'll help you track him down." She pauses, giving Huck time to respond to that with a yes or a no. Those, at least, are relatively easy to communicate.

"There's something else you should know, just so you have an idea of what you're dealing with if you go after him... Do you know about his history here? About John Thane?"

Suzie's distress is the first thing that Huck notices, because she's good at noticing that sort of thing above all else. It's something you have to look for when people are your responsibility, when your friends spend so much time trying to fend for themselves that they forget how to turn off that rampant independence. Huck whuffs a bit, unsure how to proceed with someone she's just met ( ... )

There is a certain rottweiler in the Kashtta. He is a deeply unhappy rottweiler.

He has also regressed to hiding in maintenance hallways.

At the moment he's huddled behind a disconnected computer bank someone apparently couldn't find a better place for, ears back, eyes closed, still with smudges of his own blood on his nose and side. And there he will probably remain until someone forcibly removes him from the area.
