Chance is still getting used to her new living place. She's a little nervous about living here, especially because she keeps her wings in, but the few times she's had them out, well...
It's frickin' full of angels. And she doesn't exactly have all the friends in here.
So when she pokes her head into the common room and sees her... well... she agreed to be his friend right? Whatever his name was...
"Jack?" she asks quietly, walking into the common room. She hopes that's him. She thinks it is.
Jack bounds to his feet. It's a toss-up whether he's more relieved to have an excuse to stop looking at classifieds or to see a familiar face. Either way, he's not making any attempts to hide his delight.
"I didn't realize you lived here," he tacks on belatedly. God. Sometime soon he's going to have to figure out exactly who he's living with down here. This whole obliviousness thing isn't going to get him very far.
Chance grins at him. "I didn't live here," she explains. "I just moved in. Kinda still exploring. I didn't know you lived here." She kicks at the floor a little, then looks over his shoulder. "So what're you doing?" she asks. "Like... what do you do in here?"
She's a little squirrelly at the moment, but she's curious.
"I am job-hunting. Unsuccessfully, I might add." He grimaces a bit at that. He's still not acclimated to feeling this out of his depth, however long it's been. "I don't do much in here, which is sort of the problem."
He looks at her a little closer. "So what made you decide to move in here, of all places?"
Martha wanders into the common room with a cup of coffee in her hands. It doesn't taste quite as good since Robin left. There's something missing. Bloody hell if he wasn't right about him making the best coffee in the world. She misses him for that alone.
She takes a seat near the fire, and then looks over at the stranger in the room and smiles. It's rare that there's someone down here she hasn't met considering how much time she spends here.
"Hello," she says, and then eyes the paper as she takes a sip of her coffee. "Anything exciting going on in there?"
"Hello!" Jack puts down his newspaper and pen and looks at his company. She's pretty, and new, and thus far more entertaining to look at than what he's been doing. "Nothing very exciting in the classified, anyway. Couldn't speak for the rest of it."
"What are you hunting for in the classifieds, if I may be so bold to ask a stranger I've only just met," Martha says with a smirk that says she is that bold, and it can't be helped.
The smirk turns into a smile across her lips.
"Martha Jones. Nice to meet you. Are you new? I try to introduce myself to everyone that lives down here, but there are so many people constantly shifting in and out. I'm afraid I miss more people than I've actually met."
One day that will be fixed! She's determined for the basement to have a more cohesive feel to it, again. Making herself known to everyone is part of that.

A pause.
"I'm Jack, by the way."

He returns the smile. "I've been here a while, but I haven't been very social so far. I aim to fix that when I can. It's nice to meet you as well."
He's starting to get the hang of this world, he thinks, and Jack is naturally a sociable guy; he needs to start spending time with people again.
