The Vesmier is in the Kashtta Tower. Specifically, he's in the room in the Kashtta Tower which he used for some time as a silent spot to ground himself for long-distance psychic contact: a small office just off the lobby, about a hall away from Silent Hall ( Read more... )

The Doctor, after some bargaining (and a bit of threatening to go anyway, with or without his guardian angel) got Charlie to drive him to the Kashtta, and walked in unannounced - as usual. Luckily for everyone, he's completely bypassed Silent Hall and hasn't picked up on the psychic wrong emanating from there. He's more focused on the sense of the lone Time Lord in the building, and is zeroing in on that like a homing beacon.

He bursts into the room, fairly agitated himself, and it's much more obvious on him. "What is it? Did- oh, no." Looking at him, it's not difficult to work out what happened.

The Vesmier turns, taking his hand off the psychic datapad for a moment. He's calm - after a fashion. Calm in the way that he's holding himself to it via sheer force of will, which is something, considering that his force of will could probably hold together a novaing star.

"There are three young men," he says, simply, "who will need to be extracted from the common Chicago system of hospitals so tat they may receive proper psychologic attention."

He pauses for a moment, reasserting all the usual emotional controls.

"...I may heve been rather forceful with them."

"Looks like they were a bit forceful with you," the Doctor says, leaning in to study the mark on the Vesmier's cheek. "I'd say you're about even."

They're not, really, if the Vesmier did much to them, and the Doctor knows that, but... Maybe he's feeling just a little more ruthless than he really ought to be, after what happened to Rose. He started out just concerned about all of this. Now he's angry.

The Vesmier glances down, abruptly, as though he can see the mark as well, if he looks at it. He can't, of course, and after a moment the impassive calm is firmly in place again.

"The injury is hardly severe. Not quite the physical equivalent of flood dissociation."

He may have done a DoS attack on his assailants' minds."
