And I can feel it coming in the air tonight...

And thus the Doctor pokes the Rift.

And thus the Rift responds everywhere. For the sake of this particular post, specifically the Kashtta.

At the very moment that the Doctor's prodding caused the Rift to react, somewhere in the tower's sub-basement, its Rift spits out a black duffel bag with so much force it slides across the floor, just missing ( Read more... )

Michael is less lucky than Jack. In that he doesn't so much stagger through as get thrown through, hit the hard, unpaved floor on his shoulder, and roll. He manages to do it without shooting himself, though, so that's something.

He gets to his feet quickly, with a muttered "Ow" that makes it sound like he'd like an explanation for all of that... Then, it's possible he thinks it's Fiona's fault somehow. It usually is. Once he is on his feet, though, he takes note of Jack, then raises his gun just a little as he swings around to study the area, and... Rift.

There's a Rift opening right in the direction he came from. The first time this happened, it tends to raise a lot of questions. The second time, it's kind of hard to mistake, and the only response you can really give is a sigh and, "You've got to be kidding me."

Jack doesn't have much in the way of a reaction to the entire display... Mostly because the first time he came through, there was a large handful of people with him. Clearly the Rift insists that he travel with an entourage.

"Nice of you to join me, Westen," he deadpans and casts a look at the Rift like it just personally insulted him. Fiona and Casey were with them and if they're going to fall out, now would be a fine time to do it. In the meantime, he takes stock of the surroundings- not the Conrad at all, unless the Conrad has undergone some severe redecorating.

Right, because wherever they are, this is a perfect situation to be in either way. Once was enough, goddammit.

It is a fine time for Fiona to fall out! Though Fiona gets a bit more dignity as she comes out rolling, popping gracefully up to her feet, her gun up and scanning the room without missing a beat.

Her eyebrows go up, and she relaxes, though the gun stays out and the safety stays off.

"Well, this is an unexpected complication," she comments lightly, her Irish brogue fully evident.

Arguably least lucky of them all, John Casey tumbles through and does not land nicely. He lands on his feet at first, but then he is overcome with the realization that every single thing feels and looks different to him. The way he stands is not the same, the way he holds himself feels strange, and these differences are too much to adjust to after flying through the Rift. He loses his balance and lands roughly on the floor, all sprawled out and unable to keep his balance enough to attempt to stand, again.

Casey has two realizations, but it's unclear, which occurs to him first. He has fallen through another Rift. It's really not as big a deal as the other realization, which goes something along the lines of Holy Walker fucking Bartowskis, this is not my body. Casey hasn't even looked at himself and he knows. He feels much lighter, slimmer, and smaller. Hair brushes against his bare skin. There are parts that weren't there before and parts that are there now.

"What the hell?" That is not his voice. It is not his voice saying the ( ... )
