To see a truck transporting goods throughout the city is not necessarily something out of the norm. In fact, it is a daily occurrence. However, today, a transport was sent out. A transport with no real destination and drop off. However, it does pull to park several blocks down from one Conrad Hotel ( Read more... )

Ripley was in his room when the gas reached the Conrad.

Fear is something he's used to, something he's almost become friendly with in a way. Anxieties plague him almost everywhere he goes, his mind never stops moving, never sops producing possibilities, things that make him doubt, make him question, make him fear walking through the door.

And yet those things aren't the things that come to him in this instance.

It starts at the corner of his room, a spark of soft light but he already knows, knows that if something isn't done, it's going to get worse. There's nothing though, nothing he can do and what was a spark rises to become a flame, one that consumes the wall and slowly inches towards him.

Somewhere he hears people, hears old voices of people he should save (people he should have saved) but he can't move, can't will himself through the door ( ... )

They're coming.

She sees them, everywhere, every time she turns around, and sometimes she could swear they're moving even though they're stone.

So of course, Sally's first instinct is to grab the kitten (even terrified out of her mind, she thinks to grab the kitten, and what does that say about her?) and run for Ripley.

"Ripley!" she screams, because they might've gotten him, and she has to be able to see him, to know he's still there. She screams and ducks as one almost grabs her and ducks into Ripley's room and slams the door shut in a panic. "Oh god. Oh god."

((OOC: Hello, my name is super delayed tag but whatevs.))

Sally gets louder and that scares him even more. He doesn't want her here, he needs to know that she's gone, she's safe.

But he feels her coming closer and he's shouting before he can stop himself.

"Go! Go away! Get out now! Get out before-"

She comes through the door and he feels a wave of nausea pass over him. It takes everything he has not to fall over.

"You-You can't be here!" His voice is urgent, pleading even. If she's gone then it won't matter, then things might be all right but...

"Go! Go now!" His hand are on her shoulders and he's urging her out because she can't stay here, she simply can't.

"I can't," she protests, shaking her head, afraid, clutching to his sleeve. "I can't, they'll get me, I'll be gone, I won't be able to find you again!"

Vincent heard Mitsuki's shrieks and practically ran in her general direction. If Mitsuki was screaming like that, they had to be under some kind of nuclear strike... But, honestly he wasn't sure that Mitzi ever screamed about anything, least of all nuclear war ( ... )

"Vince, I can't. I can't. S'not high enough here. Can't fall. Better this way. Cleaner, faster. PLEASE." She was crying, sobbing, choking and thrusting the gun at him. "Please, please, please."

He remembered what he did that night and it still gave him nightmares. She wasn't innocent- she'd killed and slaughtered just like any archangel, but he thought his wings would be torn from his back when he pulled that trigger for her that night, just because she wanted it so badly and he didn't have the heart to let her keep going on like that. Not a day went by that it didn't scare him.

"This is what you always lead them to, Vincent," the demon chuckled again. "You might as well put the gun to their heads and pull the trigger, because sooner or later, they all wind up just like her."

"Please, Vincent," the girl whimpered, putting the gun in his hands and guiding them to her head. "Please."And he stood there, shaking all over with more fear that he'd felt in a very long time, knowing all too well that it was true ( ... )

The Vesmier is moving through the halls, Doctorbot in hand, projecting You do not see me, you do not notice me, you do not fear me as constantly as he can. Everyone is panicking.

He brushes their minds as he goes - this one can't drive, this one has no access to a car, this one he refuses to burden with taking them to a Dalek - aha. A soldier. Access to vehicles.

He reaches out, touches his shoulder, and replicates his own calm directly into his mind, his own awareness of the situation. It won't help his heartrate, the epinephrine in his system, but it should snap him out enough to function.

Oh something snaps and that something happens to be Vincent's wings, unfurling about as fast as they would if he were in combat. He pulls them back in quickly and whirls to face what he's presuming is an attacker, but the calm takes effect and all he's left with is a desperate sense of fight or flight and he's not sure if the man he's staring at is someone he should be fighting or not, so he's left hovering on the fringe.

His wings mantle and behind him, he can still hear whispers from the teme and his dead kids, including that nameless girl. "What?" He hisses through gritted teeth, sounding only a little calm, although if he wasn't a great deal more calm than he was, Ves would probably be put through a wall by now.

They will not get her. April is not going to let them take her back. Not ever. So while she's been cornered in one of the hotel rooms, she's fighting, fighting for her life. She won't let them take her.

But they get her by the hair, and she sees the needle going towards her, and she knows it's got a sedative in it, and if they get that into her, it's over. She's desperate, screaming and kicking and they're getting closer and closer and--

Something clicks into place. Like flicking a switch that sets off a chain reaction of trap doors and vents, and suddenly she looks up, completely serious, and tilts her head just a little.

And then she lets herself go. She moves with precision and grace, all violence, no fear, and she is beautiful. This is what they made her for. This is what they made her to do ( ... )

Sark is a lot of things and rational is one of them, but there are some things he absolutely can't be rational about. He's not afraid of his demons-he has more than his share of skeletons in his closet and he was trained to think very little of them. They're inconsequential- something to be shoved far and away into the back of his mind. Very little in his past could really scare him that much, unless it could be connected back to McKenas Cole or (on some rare occasions when the hatred wasn't good enough) his father, but that wasn't what he feared most.

It hits suddenly and without warning as the gas is meant to do and all he knows next is that he's on the floor of his room, feeling for all the world like someone is torturing him to death, the pain as real as it would be in that situation and he knows what that feels like. His eyes are clenched shut and his teeth are gritted tightly and he's trying to rationalize this situation- that there's no way he's been caught or that anyone's actually torturing him, because when could that have ( ... )

Elena's in the training room when she starts breathing the gas. One minute she's working her frustrations out on a punching bag, and the next... She's back in LA ( ... )
