Trusting my soul to the ice cream assassin

Andrew Wells, having come to terms with his newfound life as an OUTCAST IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE (in all caps like that), has taken to observing and recording (and narrating) life in the Main Gauche. So there is a young blonde kid with a video camera, prowling about the halls and (as far as anyone can tell) talking to himself in an overly cheerful ( Read more... )

Tay is sitting in one of the sunrooms (though there's no sun, just a nice view of the oncoming storm) with a non-psychic journal, scribbling away. Her wings are out and folded back, and her hair's back in a ponytail. Andrew will probably be able to pick off some pretty loud thoughts off of her.

...it too paranoid to think they might have air support? Not many angels who could actually pull that off but they probably have a couple better mention that to him, we'll need to defend against that as well...

Andrew's found the halls to be pretty boring thus far so he's wandered into the sunroom, looking for interesting subjects and ooh! There's someone interesting. He creeps closer, whispering his narration like he doesn't think she's going to hear him coming, grinning.

"Here's something, gentle viewers. Young Taylor Barnam, working dilligently on some-" He pauses when he catches her thoughts. God, that's distracting, but not so much that he'd want to eat a demon heart to get rid of it. Really.

"You think really loud, so I shouldn't be held responsible for the things I hear," he says, without preamble or explanation. Standard disclaimer- the Andrew version. As far as he knows, he's stumbled onto some covert ops and Tay is secretly some paramilitary soldier.

....Andrew's brain is special.

Andrew's brain is... not far off, actually.

"As long as you don't go selling the layout of the security system the highest bidder, or blabbing them all over the place, I don't really give a fuck," she comments, not looking up.

...electrified, motion sensors on the roofs, maybe? Have to talk to Jack about that one, is he really FILMING me? Seriously? What the fuck is he doing that for?

"It's an important record!" Andrew whines. One day he will learn that it's not polite to react to people's thoughts, but that day is not today and actually might not be ever, but the narration likes to dream.

"And I might have once did that, because I totally used to do evil and stuff, but I've changed, and now I work for the side of good. A-a valiant hero, his past baptized in blood, reading to thwart the forces of..." He pauses. "Say who are we fighting anyway?"

Yes, Andrew. Say it like you're doing any fighting.

Because the whole Scooby Gang needs to meet at some point, no matter how much Roland doesn't feel like talking He stands in the hallway and stares at the blonde kid with the video camera, which is a strange way to think of Andrew as he's technically older than Roland, but... meh, details.

His gaze has been drawn to the camcorder and while he is hardly a curious guy, this is different. The tower isn't clouding his thoughts now, which means he's restless and bored.

"What is that?"

Andrew freezes and starts looking around frantically, thinking maybe something very strange has been lurking in the halls and he hasn't noticed it. Finally he realizes, in a very De Niro moment, that he's being asked a question that he doesn't really know the answer to.

"What is what?" He blinks. Welcome to the world of interacting with people not even REMOTELY from similar worlds, Andrew.

"The- What you're holding."

Roland approaches, slowly, to get a closer look at it, but he maintains a certain distance, too. He has amazing sight so it's not as if standing too close is necessary. Touching it... maybe, but he has a feeling he'd break it. It looks... delicate. All those small pieces to it.

"I've never seen anything like it."

Andrew looks down at the camcorder as if he's noticing it for the first time. "This old thing? It's a camcorder... Not even the newest model either. I found it in Buffy's attic." He bounces a little on his heels and studies Roland warily like he's not sure what to think of a person who doesn't know what a camcorder is.

"Are you from Middle Earth? Or some other planet? Because I've heard that's possible here what with that... Rift-thing." Yes, Roland, this kid is shooting you looks that makes it look like he's wondering if he can take you if you turn out to be a face-eating martian. Andrew is special.
