Just bein' around you offers me another form of relief

April is, as most of the Conrad wanderers are, for their own comfort, upstairs now. She's been upstairs for quite some time now, as a matter of fact, if a couple weeks counts as "quite some time ( Read more... )

The Vesmier is strolling the halls, thinking lightly on a number of issues. He registers April's presence and almost unconsciously adjusts his path to take him to that section of hallway, though it's an open question as to how much of the Vesmier's mind can really be called unconscious.

As to the particular charge flavouring her psychic presence... ah.

This is one of those things that never comes up on his Gallifrey, genetically sterile and functionally asexual as they all are. Occasionally the Doctor will bring home some minor scandal regarding sexual activity, but the Doctor seems to play by his own rules. And the decision is made, as many decisions on Gallifrey are made, to ignore that particular ripple in the pool and hope that it goes away.

The Vesmier isn't so much for ignoring things, but he does have his own set of default behaviours for things he doesn't know how to deal with, and in this particular case he decides not to bring it up at all.

"Nǐ hǎo."

April is... well, not exactly composed. She's rather flustered, in fact, which is pretty obvious by both her mental state and the way she smooths her hair self-consciously.

"Nǐ hǎo," she responds. "Um. How're you?"

"Quite passable, albeit unoccupied," the Vesmier responds. She... is rather flustered, really, only more so by the fact that he's here. "Have you been doing something you're not supposed to?"

He gives her a brief mental touch to accompany the question; a reassurance that he has no intention of scolding or prodding her. But he is a rather curious.

"Well..." April hesitates. She's had alcohol. And sex. And she's only fifteen. If that, she's not quite sure. "Um. Not... well, a little bit. If you go by the legalities of this time period."

You can't let someone as active as Sark is lie in bed for weeks at a time. It's an unspoken rule or something. Never mind the fact that Ariel doesn't follow those particular rules and never mind the fact that for a very long time moving was just a very bad idea in general, because as of right now, Sark feels like he's half stir-crazy and that's while still on enough drugs to choke a horse. Hence why he's walking the halls in the manner of one who is highly stoned, but trying to pretend that he's doing a damn good job of pretending he's not. He just needs to remember what moving feels like and, barring doing anything that might tear his stitches, he should be completely fine ( ... )

April jumps. Just a tiny tiny bit. Not enough to notice. Unless you're super-observant, like Julan.

"Seeing what?" she asks, totally innocent. "I was... seeing a friend. That's all."

Really, Sark. She's telling the truth.

Well, Julian's super-observant when he's sober anyway, but he's not exactly at his best right now. In fact, he's trying to convince himself that HIS UNFOCUSED EYES ARE TOTALLY LYING, but he's not counting on it.

Oh hi, there's a wall. Maybe he should lean against that for a moment. "Believe it or not, I know what 'recently sexed' looks like."

....Yes, he really just said that. We'll blame the drugs.

"..." April says, quite eloquently.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about," she says. She doesn't want to admit sex to Julian, somehow. For some reason. Probably involving brotherly things.
