History: Rossamünd was found in a basket outside of the marine society (orphanage) with his name written sloppily on a note pinned to his basket. That is why a boy has ended up with a girl's name, and it's haunted him all the while. He grew up in the marine society with the other children, sweet and occasionally bullied because of it, and was one of the last picked for a trade. He was sent along to be a lamplighter (person who tends the lamps on the trade routes and fights off monsters) and in the course of getting to Winstermill (Lamplighter headquarters) got shanghaied by smugglers, encountered a famous monster hunter, saved her life, and finally made his way to the place

Writing Sample: His philosophy is pretty simple.

In life you should eat when you're hungry, scratch when it itches, and beat the shit out of the other guy if he's trying to beat on you. There's the good side and there's Julian's side and may el Espiritu Santo help you if you're on the other team.

He's good at what he does. He lives within a supernatural world that can't always be trusted, and his peers and those around him, for all their worth are flesh and bones. He's too jaded to really believe in salvation. There's nothing to be saved from.

Julian's not a glorified life, but it's the one he knows. The one he leads - he hunts and he leads and he wins.

He's lived violently, and he'll die violently.

Writing Sample: The first time she saw Chicago, Aislin pulled the car over to the side of the road. Her sunglasses got tossed in the general direction of the car seat, and when they clattered to the floor board, she didn't bother to pick them up. Chances were they were covered in something gross at this point anyway.

The sun was low enough in the sky to make it difficult to really see through the windshield, so she rolled down her window and leaned out of the car, sitting on the edge of the window frame. The fact that the window didn't roll down all the way and the glass was cutting into her ass a bit went ignored, just like the sunglasses.

She scrunched her face a bit as she worked out the skyline. "I guess it'll do," she muttered to no one in particular. Then she was sliding back into her seat and pulling an entirely different pair of sunglasses down from the visor.

Maybe this would be the city, the year, the time for her to finally find them. Whoever they were, they were waiting to be born or found or saved. Aislin
