an old issue of duet. original scans probably taken from either
2wenty_2wo or
boys_paper . very short article, and the 2 of them talk about their different views on love. tsubie thinks love is like a line, and takki thinks that it's more like a dot.
2003.11 duet takitsuba "the points and lines that evolve"
the two ideas that overlap one another
it's been more than a year since debuting, and the two artistes have continued to grow and develop both as artistes and as men. today they talk to us very carefully about their ideas regarding music and romance.
purple for takki, blue for tsubasa.
it's been a year since debuting. how fast time flies, so fast~
precisely. I've been thinking about a lot more things since debuting. for example, like "wanting to make the best CD" for everyone who spends the money on our albums. of course, it's not just about our CDs, but also the same for our concerts.
when everyone who bought our CDs came to our concerts and we performed those songs, we got a tremendous response. it made me really happy. especially because the number one memory I have of this year is the concert we had in spring.
indeed. when we were juniors we had concerts, but we sang only songs that belonged to our seniors. even though we did have some original songs, but in the end the concert was the first and only place you'd get to listen and remember the song. I still think the power of a CD is still amazing. ah, takizawa, lately you've been writing your own lyrics and such, right?
uhhh yes, just occasionally.
ohh so you've been doing that. I've been writing too. because it's your own lyrics, you won't want to write anything untrue. for example when writing a love song, the whole scenario and contents may not be entirely true. but the lyrics carry true feelings from myself. maa, it's not just when writing love songs, but also when thinking about anybody important to myself when writing a song. takizawa, what sort of lyrics do you write?
uhh, I don't seem to be able to write anything more positive. somehow, I only write dark lyrics (laughs). but I think that's fine too. because being in love is more than just having fun and laughter. so when writing such a song, I feel that I'm able to talk about these other emotions calmly and loudly.
maa, I don't necessarily write long essays myself, but sometimes before I go to bed I have a fantastic image that conjures up in my mind. but the next morning I only feel pain.
I get that feeling too, I get it too. recently when I write with nothing in my head, the lyrics are incomprehensible (laughs). I'm one of those who likes it so much you can't bear it. and then I'd send it to my friends via email. at that time I probably had loads of confidence, but thinking about it now is painful.
that's really painful (laughs). I think romance, can be explained with a line. a straight line. it doesn't mean that it's just one side going across to the other side, but that there are two lanes. so there are times when one speeds up, or slows down, and times when one rests. I think that's like romance. to me, love is like a straight road, and there's only one destination place. what about takizawa?
romance...hmm, how to put it. if it's a line to tsubasa, it's a dot to me. if you want to use a road analogy...it'll be like a cross road junction. there are times when you just go past romance, then there are times when you meet new people at that point too isn't it. not that you are unfaithful or infidel, but I think it's nice to fall in love several times. but aren't there times when even though she's become your girlfriend, you don't want your work partner to see you two together? somehow it's gross to let your work partner watch you be sweet and all to your girlfriend.
ehh, is there somebody takizawa is being sweet to?
don't be stupid! it's not me. I don't think it's within my character to do something like that.
but even though he said that, I think that if takizawa has a girlfriend, he's be a stereotypical boyfriend. he'd be the type that would really work hard for his girlfriend's birthday sort of thing.
no no no no no. tsubasa is probably more stereotypical than me, no? you seem the sort that would come up with something huge for your anniversary.
no such thing. if you really want to compare, I think girls are more likely than boys to worry over things like these, isn't it.
but then tsubasa looks like the sort who would try to give this sort of girl something like that. like you would plan beforehand, reserve a place at the restaurant sort of thing. you're definitely that type.
what would I be like~ yes...I'd probably be like that.
HA see, gotcha there (laughs).
maa, I think that if one day I can write feelings of such a relationship into a song, it'll be nice. so let's work hard together.
oi oi, why did you wrap everything up so nicely all by yourself~ (laughs).
