I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with this fear. I do hope you can put it in a box and find your calm and joyful center again. So important. I was a Lactation Consultant for many years and have worked with thousands of mothers. Some of the simplest choices can have solid effects on the first year - Breastfeed! Find a mother's support group and attend meetings! Find mothers in your neighborhood with similarly-aged babies and meet weekly as your children grow. Co-sleeping can help keep you rested, too!
You really captured this sinking, horrific sense of fear here.
What an awful fear to have! I can't imagine all the emotions a pregnant woman goes through, but this one sounds horrible. Planning on how to deal with post-partum depression sounds like a great idea, and I hope this fear recedes for you.
*Hugs* I kinda get where you are coming from and it's okay to be fearful. Being prepared is the best thing you can do and I am happy to know you have a safety net around. Take care. <3 You wrote it quite well, I really felt like reaching out to you :)
I hope as you get closer to your due date, and after your baby is delivered, your fears subside and you can focus on the joy and excitement of being a mother.

Talk to the boyfriend now. Make a plan.
Talk to myself now..."
These are the most powerful words!
