It's been a while, but I've finally written more Who-fic, and this time it's not Ten/Martha (or not explicitly, anyway).

Title: Always the Mothers
Fandom: Doctor Who
Characters/Pairings: Francine Jones, Jackie Tyler, Tenth Doctor, mentions of Rose and Martha
Rating: A tentative PG?
Spoilers: S4 (and, by extension, all of S3)
Author's Notes/ ( Read more... )

fannish stuff: fic, tv: doctor who

OK the middle bit (where Francine and Jackie are comparing notes) left me with tears in my eyes - and then I laughed aloud at the ending ! Well done !

Thank you! I was so nervous, writing characters I'd never tried before. I'm glad it worked!

Jay, this is awesome, angst included!
It's not often that you look at all of the Doctor Who goings-on from the perspective of their mothers, and it was really interesting (and sad).

And I love the ending. The poor Doctor. XD

Thank you, thank you, thank you! ^.^ As I said in the summary, it happened because of a conversation over at lifeonmartha. I'm glad I ended up writing it, because it gave me an opportunity to write characters I've never tried to write before - and because you like it so much! ^.^

This is cute, it's interesting to think of the stories from the viewpoint of the Mums. Especially since they are both such strong-willed characters. You captured both of them well.

Thank you! I'm glad I did manage to get their characterisations right, as I'd never tried to write either of them before now.

P.S. I love your icon.
