ahh brilliance. both parts, actually; it's so interesting to see the etymology of words that way, what was originally meant by them and how they're used now. at reunion i was actually geeking with one of my fellow old english nerds about how much i miss access to the OED online since graduation-- it's never enough for me to know the definition of the word today, i want to know what it meant when it entered the language and how it's changed since.
