It was shockingly serendipitous, really. It seems that a trucker making a TM shipment completely forgot about one of his boxes. I'd return it, but, silly me... I had my eyes closed and didn't manage to see his license plate.
It seems the best way to avoid being turned to stone is to avoid contact with these creatures entirely. I would advise you to consider fleeing instead of trying to fight them off, should it come to that.
Ah, I'm not suggesting you abandon your friends. Nor am I suggesting that running is for the weak. Think, dear brother: sometimes, doesn't it take more strength to retreat than to foolishly let your pride lead you into a fight you can't win?
A starving peasant may offer his last crust of bread to a knight on his way to battle, but what is the peasant to eat after that knight departs? If I had the sort of luxuries royalty had to offer, I would gladly make my contributions in the name of charity, but alas, I am only a single creature of modest means.
That's why the price I must ask is the lowest I dare ask. To squander every resource I have at the first sign of crisis... I'm afraid such a panicked decision would bring shame to my position.

[Uh... Uxie...]
Forgive me for saying this, but is it not a little ill-spirited to charge people for something in an emergency?
[Not saying Uxie won't be successful. People in emergencies tend to panic and can get desperate. Marth is simply appalled.]

Even limited, altruism could not hurt.
[But agree to disagree, it'd seem.]
