Meringue and books (I like that combination)

I'm trying to make meringue. Everyone talks about it like it's hard, so I was rather wary. But making it all seemed easy enough. An electric mixer with a whisk attachment is helpful. It really did develop 'stiff peaks'. It was all shiny and nice with the sugar mixed in. Next step: making the meringue pieces on the baking tray. Uh oh. If there's one ( Read more... )

Hm. I bookmarked a gorgeous looking vanilla cupcake on bakebakebake with cream cheese frosting. The texture looks amazing. Or should I go chocolate? Or try to make those orange ones Lauren used to make, but I wouldn't know how. Or I could just look up cupcake recipes and see what I find...

The Other Boleyn Girl = SHIT

Trust me on this one, I've been studying Anne Boleyn for a veeeeeery long time, and this is one of the most historically inacurate pieces of filth I've come across, second only to the movie. And at least the movie had pretty costumes to distract you.
