Twenty-Eight.

My birthday is always a complicated time for me. I do not like these rather arbitrary checkpoints, times when we are conditioned to look back and judge our own progress. As if my life on May 30th, 2010 can be related to my life on May 30, 2009 in neat list form:

Beth is

"I love parts of my job and I hate parts of my job, I love parts of my life and I hate parts of my life, and I suspect that's the human fucking condition but please, for my birthday I would like more than a sign from above. I demand a map with a bold, annotated path to follow, to reassure me that I didn't stray from the trail months or years ago. I am finite and I need to know that this time I'm spending whacking at the underbrush with a golf club (no one told me I needed a machete) will amount to something."

Well good news for you lady... 28-30 years of age is when according to astrology Saturn (saturn return) moves back to the spot it was in your birth chart. This will be the stirring that gets everything back into place that wasn't, and throwing out old stuff (beliefs you hold about yourself and the world) that no longer serves your soul.

Good Luck Lady.
*hugs* to you on your journey.

If you want more info on Saturn return this lady rocks. Her videos helped me transition through this in the last year.

IMO, you are the only one that can make your map, and if you do make it, it's so important to remember that there is no way for you to see all the possible roads, so when one comes up that isn't on the map, it's ok. You might not be where you thought you were going to be, but I remember you posting about how far you *have* come. You put up a picture of yourself in your old job, and look how much you have grown as YOU. Everybody doesn't move at the same pace. In the last few years, your art might not have skyrocketed, but you have. You are in a long term stable relationship, you are more aware of who you are, more comfortable with it, and well I think that's pretty fantastic. Some people never get to where you are now. Happy 28th birthday beautiful.

I'm nearly ten years older than you, and I'm only just starting to figure out what I want to do when I grow up, and how I'm going to achieve it.

I turned 25 this year and can safely say my 21 year old self was absolutely CLUELESS as to how the world works. There's still a lot I don't know, but at least I'm capable of admitting it.

Happy birthday, Beth. Here's to many more. ♥

Hi. I just turned 33 on Sunday, the same age Jesus was when he pulled his famous disappearing man trick. I still have no idea what to do with my life, and I envy people who have known since they were 10, and have their paths magically mapped out and are sticking to the railway tracks. It never quite worked out like that for me... but I have enjoyed the wandering and the detours along the way, and have met many amazing people who made my life more interesting and exciting than it otherwise would have been.

I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday. You have an incredible gift with words, each of your posts is alive with hope and curiosity, and give me warm fuzzies when I read them. So lots of love and kisses and cats for you and all good things.
