What a great list! Obviously, I am a new fan (started with Nine) but yeah, fandom can be quite special. We actually had to make our own small German forum as there was much hate towards Ten(nant) and fangirls from the old Who-Lovers.

And then there is also the Torchwood fandom...

Oh, yes! Did you read the whole article? I just picked out the best snippets as teasers.

Oh yeah! I loved especially "Since then the production team appears to just throw a dart at a calendar and start to air the new series then with only a few weeks warning."

It's quite confusing indeed. Speaking of old Doctors and their actors, did you actually see last year that special for the special, called "The Five(ish) Doctors" with lots of cameos from people? It was brilliant! If you haven't seen it, you can do so here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01m3kfy

You'll be surprised by the people that pop up in there!

(also, did you actually ever manage to watch the video with JB singing at the Commonwealth Games?)

Yes, I saw the Davison special. Did you know it was nominated for a Hugo? I was so delighted!!

No, I never did get back to the Barrowman clip.

"Since then the production team appears to just throw a dart at a calendar and start to air the new series then with only a few weeks warning."

I would not at all be surprised if this were the case (except, they cheat and move the darts after).

So many spot on observations. And then I lost a few hours to reading omnirumour stuff, which I'd stopped looking at, but has apparently become more ridiculous in the interim. Oh fandom.

I think they throw the darts and then draw the calendar around them.

I have no idea what the Twitterwank is, and I decided I wanted to continue in that happy state.

I doubt what I was reading was the half of it, though it was plenty ridiculous. There is a reason I stay away from twitter.
