Well, I don't think the comm is especially viscous, although it sometimes gets gloppy.
It's true that a certain amount of procrastination happens during the 'Rush weekends. Amazingly enough, writing also occurs. In my case, there's more writing with the comm than there would be without it, even though part of my focus on those weekends is on running the show.
ETA: to see the round in action, check on fic_rush_48.
OK, I looked. It's kinda like Tweeting about fic writing, only with more structure (i.e. archived threads, organized tagging, soft-moderated discussion).
I've had picowrimo bookmarked since the last time I saw you mention it. I've fallen so very, very far behind on my goal for getyourwordsout that an additional relaxed-and-friendly nudge might at least help me save some face!
I'm definitely not doing NaNoWriMo, but I am considering this one instead: mini_nanowrimo. It's 100 words per day, which truly appeals to the drabbler in me.
I've done a fic a day for a month twice before just for fun on my own. Most were drabbles, but some longer fics came out of those efforts, too. Once you force the muse to go, she is usually more cooperative, no?
So I'm really thinking about it. Alternatively, I could do pico. Then I could skip the weekends. Hm. Must think on it.
I can't do fic rush with any sense of actually being able to do it with my current work schedule. I work Fri/Sat/Sun overnights, so...yeah. Not so much.
Oh, yes. I'll count them. I only meant that I won't be doing fic right away. Dave G (not to be confused with Dave B) just gave us bloggers some fun little freelance work, and he needs it by Friday (whee!), so I'll just do that first, is all.

As if I need another comm to help me procrastinate instead of finishing my viscous plotbunnies.

The mods, in addition to doing the hourly posts, also provide cheerful encouragement. And bad jokes. And occasional threats.

Specifically, I'm in for 100 words five days a week.
Five drabbles a week. I've done it before, I'll try to do it again. First, though, I have two pieces to do for SFX, so...

Aren't you counting the SFX pieces? I would. It's writing, after all!
