[Audio; Locked to Team Angelus aka those who took part in the ritual]

Nov 07, 2011 16:50

I'm taking Angel to the Sheriff's department tonight to turn himself in. If anyone else wants to come, I can probably take two or three more in the Lexus.

[A pause.]

I'm also turning myself in, so I may need at least one person to drive the car back to the mansion for me.

cordelia chase, faith lehane, spike, buffy summers, bonnie mccullough (au), wesley wyndam-pryce, damon salvatore, angelus/angel

[Wes hadn't been prepared for this. So defensivenesss is a go.]

Could you perhaps be more specific?

Yes. I probably am. But I knew that once Angelus was taken care of that it would happen.

[There's a long, very awkward pause.]

I'm sorry, I should have told you. But we met after all of that had happened.

[ It's hard enough that he couldn't stop Angelus, harder still that he had to live with the consequences, but now he had to participate in turning himself in - which he had no problem with - and he had to endure a car ride with Buffy? Buffy, who should not have been driving. Ever. Band candy. Every other example where Buffy didn't need to be behind the wheel. But, he couldn't offer to drive. He and Wes were turning themselves in. It was the least he could do ( ... )

[Wes certainly wasn't in the mood for incessant chatter. But occasionally he glanced over at Angel. There was still a part of him that feared that the ritual hadn't worked. That Angelus was sitting next to him and any minute now he'd laugh and turn everything upside down again.

Even if it was Angel, there was still no love lost between them. So much bloodied water under the bridge.

He leaned forward, trying to find a decent music station that might break the silence.]

[Cordelia's sitting in the driver's seat, uncharacteristically quiet for once. It's hard, being around Angel after months of dealing with Angelus. Mostly because she's not sure how to navigate this. There's so much she doesn't know about the future. Angelus had only given her snippets of how things had changed between them, and she's not even sure how to believe. She should be glad her best friend's back, but it's a mixed blessing at best ( ... )

[ Angel relaxed only slightly when it was Cordelia who climbed into the front seat. She wasn't a horrible driver per se, but she'd never been on his short list for getaway car driver. That was usually Gunn - occasionally Wes. But, never Cordelia. Not that this was a getaway situation. It was the exact opposite.

Angel glanced over when Wes fiddled with the radio, surprised that Bete Noire even had radio towers, a radio station. He remembers vaguely the "Let your Freak Flag Fly-y-y" every few weeks. Or, was it once a week? He didn't know.

He moved to say something but nothing comes out. Because, there wasn't anything to say. Angelus had said it all overtime, had dropped bombs before he'd been sent back to his cage - his artificial cage. Angel wondered how secure that cage was, he wondered about the consequences of this new, artificial soul. But, he felt like himself. He just didn't know if he would wake up tomorrow with someone else in the driver's seat ( ... )
