[Audio; Locked to Team Angelus aka those who took part in the ritual]

Nov 07, 2011 16:50

I'm taking Angel to the Sheriff's department tonight to turn himself in. If anyone else wants to come, I can probably take two or three more in the Lexus.

[A pause.]

I'm also turning myself in, so I may need at least one person to drive the car back to the mansion for me.

cordelia chase, faith lehane, spike, buffy summers, bonnie mccullough (au), wesley wyndam-pryce, damon salvatore, angelus/angel

[ Angel relaxed only slightly when it was Cordelia who climbed into the front seat. She wasn't a horrible driver per se, but she'd never been on his short list for getaway car driver. That was usually Gunn - occasionally Wes. But, never Cordelia. Not that this was a getaway situation. It was the exact opposite.

Angel glanced over when Wes fiddled with the radio, surprised that Bete Noire even had radio towers, a radio station. He remembers vaguely the "Let your Freak Flag Fly-y-y" every few weeks. Or, was it once a week? He didn't know.

He moved to say something but nothing comes out. Because, there wasn't anything to say. Angelus had said it all overtime, had dropped bombs before he'd been sent back to his cage - his artificial cage. Angel wondered how secure that cage was, he wondered about the consequences of this new, artificial soul. But, he felt like himself. He just didn't know if he would wake up tomorrow with someone else in the driver's seat.

Glancing at Cordelia, memories of what had transpired before coming to Bete Noire flooded. Cordelia being brought back by the Powers. Her amnesia. Lorne's spell. Cordelia sleeping with Connor. That was the biggest kick to the gut. How could he have -- but he needed to remind himself. Cordelia was from -- another time. Earlier. She wasn't caught up. She wasn't versed. She hadn't lived it.

Once again, he couldn't say anything. He waited for music to break the silence. ]

[This is Faith.

This is closed-off Faith with her arms folded and her legs folded and everything about her folded in, sitting in a car full of people who, even if they don't hate her, aren't exactly members of the Faith Fan Club.

And she's there because of the person next to her, not any of them, to make sure he doesn't do something stupid like tell them to put him away for a decade. She's promised not to make trouble, but promises and Faith are kind of an iffy situation. She's behaving, though.

But she doesn't have a whole lot to say.]

Well, aren't we a cheery lot.

[Wes observes when the silence between everyone just becomes heavier and heavier.]

Shall I go first? I spy with my little eye...

[He trails off, of course, because no-one's really in the mood for games. They've had more than enough of games. The drive has a funereal air to it, even if they have some cause to celebrate. Angelus has finally been defeated, after all. The fallout from his actions in the city, however, will likely continue to linger for some time.]

Is it something sucky? Because there seems to be a lot of that going around.

[Cordelia's words come out more bitter than she means them to, but she can't help it. Even though Angelus has been defeated, finally, it doesn't feel like they've accomplished anything. There's still so much they were all reeling with. Her minds keeps focusing on that final reveal about her future Angelus had let spill. How something like that could have ever happened. What Angel must think of her because of it.]

[ Angel glanced over when Wes attempted to play "I Spy." Nothing he could say would suffice, would fix any situation from the past few weeks. He couldn't push tension under the rug in favor of a child's game. Instead of speaking, he sits, in favor of silence.

His mind turns to Faith sitting on the other side of Wes. Everything he remembered regarding her before ending up here. Faith teaming up with everyone, to take Angelus down - to bring him back. But this Faith had tried to pull one over on everyone. She tried to work with the devil himself. Had slept with him.

All that work, all that jail time obsolete because Faith seemed to be from before that time period. There were a lot of pieces to pick up. He didn't know if he could be the one to do it - or how to do it. What to say, what to do. What would actually help and what continued to need to go unsaid. A day in his body and already he feels as useless as he was when a demon had taken the wheel. ]

[Faith rolls her eyes at Cordy's comment, as usual taking it personal because everything is about her, but she's in the backseat so it's not real obvious. The crowded car is setting off her claustrophobia like crazy and the anxiety about what's coming up isn't helping, her leg starts to bounce as she fidgets.

The city is for serious the size of a Walkman, how the hell are they not at the station yet?

Still, even the Faith Show in her head has to take a break for commercials sometimes. She leans over to Wes, her voice pitched so it's clear she's just talking to him even though it's not like everyone can't hear her anyway.]

How are you doing?

[Wes shifts his head slightly, leaning towards Faith to hear what she has to say. He's glad she's there to lend support. Now if he can just get her to not be over-protective when they reach the police station...

He gives her a flicker of a smile. Then says what he's supposed to say in these situations.]

Five by five.

[Cordelia glances back behind her as Wes and Faith talk to one another, like the rest of them can't hear. Normally, it would probably bother her (she doubted she'd ever approve of that weird thing they have going on<) but with everything else, it's hard to be that petty.

So instead she just focuses on the road. It's easier, that way.]
