Ooh can you? I have WP on my website already, I've just been too lazy to leave my communities and f-list.

I need to check that out!

Heh. I posted a comment on Rob~ word press blog. He didn't have anything there, but that didn't stop me. I figure if he isn't going to post, we can have a bertho blog without him

What a bunch of crap.

I don't care that I can't see them with a paid account. It's the entire point of LJ now being used by corporations to advertise their shit. This has gotten so far removed from being a journal website, it's ridiculous.

Why don't they do this crap on Vox instead?

And right there is the biggest thing that pisses me off about this (aside from rahaeli talking to us like we're five years old). And then they're going to use the money they make from this crap and roll out more new shit that has absolutely nothing to do with journaling.

And the birthday notifications still won't work... ;-)

I wish she had been so outspoken in giving me a good fucking reason why she used viewall on my journal (lolz, she was still on my friends list at the time--wait, maybe she still is, can't be bothered to check).

Oh right, business reasons, blah blah blah, have to blah blah blah security blah. But that was the day that LJ died for me.

Do you know if I can convert my support points for a buy-one-get-one-free McMuffic coupon?

Oops, what is a McMuffic?

I had a program a few months ago that downloaded your entire journal, comments and all. I shall have to go find that again. I think it was a Windows program, but I only had it for a short while and really don't know anymore... I'll let you know if/when I find it.

Well, I had planned on making a conscious effort to start updating here more regularly, but that's not happening now. I set up a blog on wordpress.com, but I'm not sure I'll use it - I'm thinking about getting a webhost and installing WordPress on it so I can be the boss for a change. :)

And I can't use my Madeleine crotch pic on here because it went inactive when my paid account ran out. :(

I'm sure that wherever you end up you will be able to revive your "Madeleine Crotch" We all look forward to that day ;)

Thanks for the link; I'm off to download. I use Windows now, btw so this should be easy.

Where will you go for web hosting? places like godaddy.com want to charge for everything and won't let you load anything of your own.

Funny, I don't use Windows now. :)

I actually installed wordpress on my box, too, but I fucked it up on one little step (not my fault - apparently you have to use the exact domain you want it accessed from when you run the install script instead of using 'localhost', like the WP installation guide example, or the pics and CSS won't load on remote machines - sounds like a bad coding job to me...) I doubt I'll actually run it on here, but I wanted to play with it so I'll be a pro by the time I get a host. ;-) Actually, I think I will use this as a temporary solution just for the hell of it, assuming I can get my router to actually forward port 80 to this box (it refused last time I tried. :( )

So are you deleting your journal, or just letting this one be inactive?

I don't quite understand all that's going on here, but it doesn't sound good. However, can you not just overlook what you want to see? Or is it going to be forced down our throats?

I'm probably leaving it here so I can comment (I'm planning on watching those who stay through RSS feeds), not sure what I'm doing with my entries yet. Either making them all friends-only or deleting them if I can migrate them all with the comments ( ... )

/me open mouth kisses you for this comment.

Pretty much everything that has been on my mind since reading that fucking shit post (and I just read Brad's lame attempt to smooth everything over... wow). I keep waiting for them to announce that this is a joke, and they were actually doing a new-age reinterpretation of Animal Farm.
