The Anna Alternative
When the NARS Audacious lipsticks came out, I was on a buying ban. Horrible timing, I know. I was also really strict about it. I didn't make any exceptions which I now know I should have done because now I am obsessed with the Shade Anna and I couldn't find it anywhere. Huhu! So yeah, it was sold out everywhere but I still went to a NARS counter as soon as the ban was over just to see if they've restocked (hoping for a miracle obviously). They haven't restocked, there was no Anna anywhere. But the good and helpful SA at NARS pointed me in a different Anna-esque direction. Not gonna lie, she kinda talked me into buying this combo while I hunt down a tube of Anna. Cost me more than if I just got the tube when it came out too. In terms of cost effectiveness, it's a fail because I will still buy the Anna lipstick if/when I find it. But in terms of satisfying my craving for a mauve-purple lipstick, it's a win. Here's the combo I use to dupe the color:
The lipliner is El Agua and the lipstick is Damage. I love these two together but I can also wear them on their own. Damage (described as sheer muted grape) without the liner is a sheer satin finish while the liner is a matte lavender rose. Together, they give a mauvey purple color that's good for everyday use this fall/autumn or if you're just a bit bored with pinks and nudes at the moment like I am. I will still look for Anna but in the meantime, I'll be using this lip combo until I get my hand on a tube.
