Nail Polish of the Week: Essie Mint Candy Apple
I think this nail polish will finally end my minty-blue polish obsession. if you've been following my NOTD posts, then you probably know that it's the color I've worn mostly all summer. Last week, I actually thought that I'm ready to move on to darker colors. But fate had other plans for me. Haha! I wasn't expecting to find Essie Mint Candy Apple in Festival Mall but I did so who am I to resist? Here's how it looks on my nails:
All these time, I thought this nail polish has more mint in it than blue but it's actually the other way around. I've been reading it from a lot of the blogs that I follow. It was super popular as a summer color. To my eyes, it's actually light blue with a bit of mint added in to make it wearable. Look at that color! Isn't it pretty? I just keep on looking at my nails because it looks super sweet. Applying this was not an easy feat though. I dunno, I guess I'm just not an Essie girl. There's always the debate about whether Essie is better than O.P.I. or vice versa. I think I'll have to go with OPI. I've never had any problem with the brand unlike this one. I find the brush too thin which makes the color streaky. To get an even coat of color, I had to apply three coats and then add a top coat to even it out. As I'm typing this, the nail on my right pointfinger is already chipped. Maybe next time, I'll bring this nail polish to a nail salon so they can apply it for me. For now, I like how it looks and I'll just ignore the chipped nail.
