Three coral cuties in one: BYS Blush Trio in Coral Me In

Sep 19, 2013 11:00

I wasn't wearing that much makeup yesterday (as in powder and brow pencil only) so when I ran into our HR Director here in the office, she told me I looked maputla (pale). Because of that comment, I think blush should be a staple in my makeup bag. Well, it already is but sometimes I get too lazy to apply it. It's a shame too because this year, my blush collection has increased significantly. Here's one of the latest blushes that I added to my collection. This is the BYS blush trio in Coral Me In:

BYS (Be Yourself) is an Australian brand that recently became available here in Manila. You can get them at SM and Watsons Beauty section. This Blush Trio is actually pretty similar to Sleek's Blush by 3 but wayyy cheaper. My first experience with the brand wasn't that good ( BYS concealer) so it took me a while to try their other products. I saw this from a post of an Instagram beauty blogger that I follow and got curious. When I tried this, it made me rethink and actually want to try their other offerings. Here are the swatches of the amazing colors:

There are no names indicated in the pan so I'll call them Left, Middle, and Right (order in the pan). Left is a true orange color that leans a little bit neon. It's the most powder-y of the three colors (but all of them are powdery in case you want to know). This reminds of Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy but since I don't have that color, I can't say it's a dupe. But the color sure looks similar. Middle is a pink-brown color with lots of golden shimmer. The sales associate told me this is supposed to be a bronzer but it doesn't work as a bronzer at all. It's fine as a blush if you don't mind a whole lot of shimmer. Right is my favorite color and it's a pinky coral color. This reminds of a lot of Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface which I have. If you like Dollface and you're looking for a dupe, this is a close one!

All of the three are very, very pigmented. The lightest touch of my brush already gets a lot of color so don't forget to tap tap tap before you apply it to your cheeks. Because it's powdery and not that finely-milled, fall out is a bit of an issue but if you tap it before you apply it, it shouldn't be a big problem. Wear time is also decent with it lasting for 6-8 hours on my cheeks. Not bad for a Php250 blush palette, right?
