If you were able to read my post yesterday, then you probably know that I haven't been feeling great lately. It's probably mostly due to the crappy weather we've been having. And when it rains, there's bound to be traffic everywhere. This makes commuting a big hassle and really, really tiring. One time it even took me 3 hours just to get home. All the stress and changing weather is making me sick and it's also not helping my skin! That and the fact that it was that time of the month last week really did a number on my skin.
When my skin is this bad, I have to add a power dose to my skincare routine. Here's what I've been using to make my skin behave:
Lush Dark Angels Cleanser is really more of a scrub/mask than a cleanser. The label says it has charcoal, Rhassoul mud soothing sandalwood and black sugar and it's supposed to be used once a week for normal skin and twice a week for oily skin. I use this once a week when my skin is being good to me but when it's not (like last week), I use it twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday nights). When I went to the Lush store, I was originally planning on buying Angels on Earth. However, that one was sold out and this one was on the shelf so I checked the reviews online and most of them are saying that this suits oily skinned gals so I decided to get it.
I'm glad I did because I really, really love this product! When I first used it, I was a bit alarmed because it stung. Then when I washed it off, there were red spots all over my face. I didn't do anything and just prayed that it will go away in the morning. And it did! The next day, I woke up with clear skin, much clearer than the night before. This is really effective when you have dull skin or when you have bumps on your face on its way to becoming a full-pledged pimple. You only need a pea-sized product to cover the entire face. I've been using this for over a month now and I still have about 50% left. I guess that's the only downside to this product (and all other Lush products for that matter). The shelf life is just three months so I have to use it up by next month. My husband is helping me finish this tub too. He likes it because it's black (but he says he likes the Garnier self-heating mask better). I was also disappointed that it came in this clear tub instead of the standard black tubs for other Lush products. Why oh why, Lush?
Aside from those two things, I say this product is a winner. I will probably repurchase this when we run out (or when it expires, whichever comes first). Have you tried this cleanser or other cleansers from Lush? Which one's your favorite?
