Lipstick Month Post #16: Topshop Lip Stick in Thrilled

Jul 24, 2013 14:39

I think I'm kind of getting the reason behind the names of these Topshop Lip Sticks. Rapturous, as the name implies, is an intense color. This next lip product is called Thrilled so understandably from the name, this is less intense. If yesterday's lip product post was a bold and loud color, today is the semi-opposite. It's only semi because although this is a regular color, it's still bright. This is the Topshop Lip Stick in Thrilled which is a pink color that's still unlike any other color that I have right now.

What makes this unique, in my opinion, is that it's like a muted neon pink color. Like if you turn neon pink several notches down, this is what it would look like. However, since this is lighter than Rapturous, I find that it doesn't stay that long on the lips. After two to three hours, the color has already faded. Like Rapturous, Thrilled is also in matte finish and the product is also very creamy. This makes application very easy because there's no pulling or tugging on the lips. If I were to compare it, the texture is pretty similar to the NARS velvet matte lip pencils. They also have the same wear time now that I think about it. But overall, I would gladly trade wear time with the fact that it doesn't dry my lips. I don't mind reapplying every two hours.

Again my main beef with this is that it comes in pencil form which is annoying when you have to sharpen it. I have found a sharpener that fits but I just hate that a lot of the product is wasted when I sharpen it. Overall, I really like this lipstick and I rue the day when it runs out. I will definitely look for a way to repurchase this.
