*sigh*

Well, I really didn't expect the last 24 hours to go like that...

Agnes, our ginger pig (on the left in the pic, taken almost a year ago), miscarried last night. Could have been far worse, after a clean-up she's been reasonably cheerful, and is eating/drinking normally. We took her to the vet this morning to be checked out, and he couldn't see ( Read more... )

I think the fates were against that particular trip to London, since I was throwing up all day Saturday as well. Glad you got some quality time as a couple, because as you say it's a bit of a rarity, especially in a shared house. I'm glad the piggy's come out of it relatively unscathed, but still not a nice thing to happen. :(

Hiya, I charge £20/hour during term time with a 5% discount for paying a full term's fees in advance. I do only take on beginners for piano, though - at any level above grade 3-ish I'm afraid I wouldn't be much help!

There are more teachers around than you'd think, though. There's a register of qualified teachers at www.ism.org, although you may find that their fees are quite a lot higher than mine. www.musicteachers.co.uk is useful for finding local tutors who may be unqualified (doesn't necessarily mean they're not good!) and whose rates might well be lower.

Hope that helps! :)

Well, if proper tutoring isn't what you're looking for I'd be happy to have you come and play my piano and to lend you a critical ear ;)

I've told my current piano pupil that he can use my piano for "supervised practice" (as he doesn't have one of his own) for £5/hour in and out of term time, so if that sounds like a good starting point for you you'd be very welcome. I'd be around, and listening, but not breathing down your neck or making you play scales over and over!!
