*sigh*
Well, I really didn't expect the last 24 hours to go like that...
Agnes, our ginger pig (on the left in the pic, taken almost a year ago), miscarried last night. Could have been far worse, after a clean-up she's been reasonably cheerful, and is eating/drinking normally. We took her to the vet this morning to be checked out, and he couldn't see anything outwardly wrong with her, but she's got some antibiotics (which evidently taste yukky, if the poor thing's expression is anything to go by) to make sure she doesn't get infected, and we need to keep an eye on her in case there's anything...left, so to speak. We're hopeful that she'll make a full recovery, but she'll not be able to breed again now, which is a bit sad.
Unfortunately it meant that today's exciting plans with kamalaya and mr_pete were cancelled, so bright_raven and I have spent the day catching up on the sleep we lost last night, and talking. Lots. It's been really good, we so rarely get the opportunity to shut ourselves away from the world, but today we did and I feel like a huge weight's been lifted.
But enough - I'm off for a bath and an early night.
