I've been able to read LJ but haven't been posting. The sort version is that after "close but no banana" on a couple of excellent jobs in November, I got visited by the Good Temp Job Fairy in early December. what do you do? i get the feeling i have asked this before, but i am so scatterbrained lately. it seems like the workload for xmas doubles every year. however i hear of a lot of tech related openings in the bay so i can keep an ear open if you are in that field.

I'm a Windows/Exchange administrator. I've got experience in mid-size enterprise environments (2000-8000 users) and with a lot of the stuff that comes on a windows server. I have a slightly expired security cert and am good at documentation, etc.

Some desktop, Level 1 network, no coding beyond writing administrative scripts.

Yea for temp jobs.

That's how my brother finally found a job after a year. And kept himself above water during all that time. :)

I know it sounds silly, but they're at jobfairy.com. And it's oriented around you IT folks, although anyone can use it, really. I've found it helpful, so I thought I'd pass it on.
