It seems I've timed my birthday badly this year, since more or less everyone is busy or away. So I'm revising my plans a bit - largely I shall be staying at home and sulking. Probably with beer and games and DVDs. If anyone fancies coming over for a few drinks on either Friday or Saturday evening (or during the day actually, but do phone first in

No probs, it seems like most people are busy or away this weekend anyway, so I don't really have anything planned. Yep, I'll be in on Saturday evening, so you're very welcome to turn up then - especially with cake :D

Erm... does Treacle Tart count as cake? (if it doesn't, then some kind of chocolate fudge cake deal would be my second choice) :)

My definition of cake is quite broad - 'anything sweet I'd consider consuming with a cup of tea'. I think Nigel Slater has a Treacle Tart in his cookbook, if not, I'm sure Nigella can oblige...
