I've had this idea kicking around in my head for a while - that the Doctor would do what he thinks is best for her and avoid meeting her when she's younger so as to save her from the fate he's already seen - and you've written it really well here. This couple is just tragic no matter how time plays with them and I both love that and hate it a little bit because it just pulls me in and kills me in a way fictional things aren't supposed to.
