I think it's pretty much a general Doctor-y trait, actually, re-writing someone's life. Certainly it's not alien to Eleven. See: Kazran, A Christmas Carol.
I think I may have actually made a little strangled sound in the back of my throat at the end of this. Ooooooo, that hurts (in a good way), and seems far too plausible. Who needs straightforward?
