Wow, that's brilliant. On the one hand I don't know how you can keep it all straight in your head as you're writing, but on the other hand, I had no trouble keeping it straight as I read it. I'm fascinated to see where you're going to take it.

Sometimes, I make charts. These charts have reality columns and the dates down the side, then John sleeps, jump to [following plot thread + date] at the bottom of each box. (Don't worry, that level of madness doesn't come in for a while.) Later chapters will include John's daylist, his personal calendar system, just to make sure everyone stays on the same page. I'm glad it's reading intelligibly so far, though!

Clearly, I watch/read way too much scifi. Beyond that, charts and tables. As the story grows in complexity, I'll include visual aids.
