Comic Book People:

Am I the only person who's stopped reading POWERS and DMZ because they've really been boring the piss out of me?

I mean, yeah, I know that COUNTDOWN sucks ass and readership drops with EVERY WEEKLY ISSUE, but what about these "big name" comics?

More comic stuff later.

b

comic, boring my piss, dmz, countdown, powers, comic books

I've downloaded them... Can't say I remember reading them, though.

That said, I am due for a binge of cbr and cbz hording. Perhaps I'll check them out and let you know.

I wish I new(that way I could contribute something meaningful), but I only buy graphic novels, and these don't number among them.

Hell if I know, I'm a Marvel zombie. However, Thor has been kicking much ass.

Here's my recap of the last issue of THOR:

Tony Stark - Hey, Thor, lemme fill you in on some--

Thor - *silent*

Tony Stark - I don't want it to go down like this, but GAH! THAT FUCKING HURTS! I'M GONNA DIE LIKE A
LITTLE BITCH!

Thor - We'll talk more later, rat turd. Also, HEIMDALL!!!

I have to admit that I am still buying DMZ but haven't read past issue #8. Pathetic, I know. I'm just buying SO MANY DAMNED books each week now that I start to slip on a title and then I am so far behind I need to schedule a weekend to catch up.

As for POWERS - I think it is the erratic publishing schedule that is faking you into believing that nothing is happening. What's going on right now has me more riveted than almost anything in the book so far. I want to know what's going on.

That anonymous comment above is mine.

ALSO, I love the idea that you have made some crazy internet-celebrity turn and now wonder if anyone else has stopped reading certain comics because they bore you.

(Check the first sentence of your OP again...)

The more I think about it, the more I'll buy the erratic-publishing thing, but...well, that's killed some damn fine books.

For example, I don't even remember when the last issue of Planetary came out. I'm literally going to have to reread the last five issues to prep myself for the final one, or I won't remember anything that's happening.

PLANETARY is done. There is one final "coda" issue to come at some point, but it supposedly takes place further on down the road.

I have to disagree with you - schedule can only kill a book if you let it.

The last issue of SCUD is finally coming out, eventually. It's been a decade, and I am stillgiddy as a schoolgirl...
