Comic Book People:

Am I the only person who's stopped reading POWERS and DMZ because they've really been boring the piss out of me?

I mean, yeah, I know that COUNTDOWN sucks ass and readership drops with EVERY WEEKLY ISSUE, but what about these "big name" comics?

More comic stuff later.

b

comic, boring my piss, dmz, countdown, powers, comic books

Stopped reading powers after the first Icon issue. Stopped buying after the second.

Never read DMZ.

Checkmate is my favorite DC comic at the moment, but nothing lately (and I just spent over a $100 at the comic book shop clearing out my backlogged saver box) has struck me as "MUST READ!"

On your icon:OMG, Batman...you dick.

Not saying it isn't TRUE but...WOW. I just wouldn't have the bizalls to say that to a guy who can flick a booger at me from outer space and take away my ability to reproduce. But then again, doesn't Bats have a chunk of kryptonite "just in case"?

NOTE:ar901 wears a superman logo tshirt under his dress shirt and tie for a boost in confidence at brokerage meetings.

That was one of the best and heartbreaking scenes from Infinite Crisis with Bruce, Clark and Diana.

NB - I have a batcave that has a plastic dinosaur from the shed museum, a canadian toonie, batman mini-mates that I pose, and a mac laptop with two screens.

DMZ started SO FUCKING HARD, just like POWERS.

Regrettably, both feel like they're drifting aimlessly these days, POWERS in particular. Remember when there were storylines in that book? When 22 pages seemed like 22 pages, not 11?

I stopped reading POWERS a long time ago. I'm still into DMZ, but I've always wanted to know about that kind of thing. You know, being a reporter and how America could hold itself during another Civil War. I like it. And I'm sticking with Countdown. It's the weakest book I buy, but I'm still interested in the characters.

btw, "boring my piss"?

Yep. My piss is having its excitement killed.

I bailed on COUNTDOWN last month, and I've flipped through the recent issues. Don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I might try it when it becomes Countdown to Final Crisis, but considering they've spoiled part of the end of the Sinestro war (or that will be one massive fake-out/retcon), I'm not too worried.

I don't read either of 'em...they just...bored me. Not to say that the work isn't good, I'm sure it is...but it wasn't for me.

POWERS started hardcore, as did DMZ...okay, POWERS started way harders, but both are just sorta wandery now, and POWERS is legitimately boring.

Hrm. Powers hasn't been at its best lately but, y'know, it's still Powers. I'm with you on DMZ, though.

Storylines seem to be lasting A HUNDRED YEARS right now. As I told somebody else, the book used to read like it was 22 pages, now it reads like 11. Bendis seems to be writing with as few words as possible, which is the opposite of why I loved POWERS in the beginning.
