Everybody thinks I'm kidding when I say I go into Chinese restaurants and say "Surprise me."

Today I went to Cravings with nhyrvana  and told the guy there--who knows my "Don't tell me what it is until I eat it" tendencies--that I was having kinda a down day and that I wanted something that would make me feel better.

When he called out "SURPRISE DISH!" from the counter and I went up there, it actually took my brain a moment to process what was in front of me.

This is all exactly as Ben says.

Which always leaves me feeling a little lame assed when I order things like "udon noodles" or the "sweet & sour chicken".

Though he did leave a lot of that fish "un-eated".

If one was to receive a fish by post one could only hope it came with black bean sauce. For then one could interpret the message not as 'Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes' but rather 'Luca Brasi is crazy tasty'
