I used to live in Marissa, which is right next to Sparta, IL. I worked in Sparta for a while. ;) Spent more time than I like to admit hanging out in the Sparta WalMart, because that's really just about the only thing to do in Marissa and Sparta combined.
Yeah, that's true. That Walmart and Taco Bell are right next to each other, and across the street there's a McDonald's, Hardees (if it didn't close), and, up the street, the Pizza Hut where I worked. And yes, those are the only fast food places that service at least two towns, if not three, since I can't remember if Coulterville actually has fast food places either. Granted, it's been years since I was even in any of those towns so things may have changed or my memory may be faulty.
The website's not nearly interesting enough for me to bother photoshopping here, but I did notice that the village of Sparta in Michigan is having an Easter Egg hunt on Saturday...
My mind is filled with images of pastel-frock-clad children squealing and giggling with innocent joy as they romp in the grass, finding gaily colored eggs... and then the guys from 300 show up, decapitating and messily dismembering all of them. It looks kind of like the Monty Python skit where they're having the picnic, and the guy's hands get cut off in the piano, etc... you know the one. SKEET-SKEET-SKEET!
It completely doesn't look like this image of the battle of Thermopylae from Wikipedia - for one thing, fewer penes and less interpretive dance with wreaths:
