hmm..

given that Steve has written a great many of those tales [I have all of them], I take 'best since the original' to include his later works.

Anyways, judging by the quality of Sir Wormy, you are indeed a better writer. [disclamer: I feverently enjoy all the works of Mr Niles, including novels]

Still, as always I stand by your modesty :-) it remains a terribly charming feature

I *meant* to say I take the 'better' statement to read as better than the later stuff Steve wrote. Which your current writing is.
