I think I'm going to have to say something. I don't usually comment on poetry, because I hate the tendency of poets to be self-indulgent and emo, but I have to say something. And don't just delete your post without reading this comment first. I just spent an hour on it.
Just because you are writing a poem, does not mean what you create is poetry. It also does not mean you have to write about depressing subjects like jealousy or unrequited love or even love at all. In my opinion, the best poetry is the kind that really reflects the writer's mindset and position. Unfortunately, most historical poets have been bipolar or mentally unstable or overly attached to the object of their affections, thus creating a canon of poetry that is generally depressing and overwrought with despair and love

First off, I haven't been able to reply in like forever because I was super-sick-I got the swine flu then strep throat. Sucks really bad but my immune system's down because I was home schooled last year
