True Blood Speculation

Having just finished the fifth Sookie book, Dead as a Doornail, I started thinking about where they’re going to go with True Blood, now that they’re nearing the end of the arcs based on Living Dead in Dallas. Speculation on the show with spoilers through that book, the short story in the Bite anthology, and this week’s episode.

No Alcide?! But actually, it works up through book 8 (as far as I've gotten). Stupid Debbie creates another complication with regards to Eric's amnesia, but you can do without it. Hmm. I'd miss the Weres, but I think you're right. Huh.

I know. It's a little surprising to consider eliminating them entirely but there you go. Glad to know that so far, you think that's doable.

Book 3 is reviled, eh? Interesting. I hadn't heard that but I guess it doesn't really surprise me. It's the one I have the hardest time remembering anything about.

I would definitely add myself to the Alcide fans list before I read the fifth book. Now I'm sort of repulsed by him. I don't know. I definitely don't want the show to be overwhelmed with supes but he does seem to have an interesting character arc. I wonder if they'd introduce him as a new love interest but leave off the werewolf trappings?

Ooh, an Eric/Godric scene? I definitely hadn't considered that. I suppose they could still give us a steamy flashback but frankly, I'll be surprised if Godric also gets a stay of execution, since they've already kept Lafayette alive.

I think the Jacob quote did originate with BSG but I'm not 100% on that.
