Down here, if we get *any* snow it would be a major mess. We've had a couple of ice storms in the past eight years, but no snowfall heavier than a half inch.

Athan & I wanted to go to the gem show (we both needed findings) but the weather was yucky & she didn't want to drive, reasonably. I figured Greyhound buses can do better, so I took bus & mass transit. With icy slowdowns that meant 12 hrs total of bus/train/walking/waiting for 3.5 hrs at the show (it was at a convention center near O'Hare airport).
When I was waiting for the Greyhound bus home, there were two anouncements that ticketholders at gate 5(?) must have destination no further west than St. Louis, buses were not running west of St. Louis due to Weather. The icestorm mostly missed us. We did get some ice, but not too much that it had melted off the sidewalks by the next afternoon.
