Okay, so, I'm kind of in love with this fic.

For Sam, it's shocking and a little humiliating to realize that, while he's considered himself so special all along, even way back when he had to run off to Stanford because he deserved better than his family, he isn't the first choice, after all. And he deserves to run into that wall, because for too many years he took Dean for granted and looked down on him -- he never really saw Dean, which is why he's so blindsided here.

You have some really wonderful phrases and articulations of ideas, particularly with Ruby's whole explanation of how "God chose first." Not only is it a fascinating notion, it is also expressed very well.

Love this!

One thing, though: in the last paragraph, it should be 'Shepherd' and not 'Sheppard.'

It loves you back! Why -- because you really got the point that I was trying to get across! Yes!! What inspired this was that if I were trying to rally up an army to conquer the world then Sam wouldn't be my fist choice for General. Tactician, sure. But Dean would be my go-to guy, he's the super soldier even without the nifty powers. So I asked myself, why *didn't* the YED pick Dean and the answer that I came up with, after Castiel went and "raised him from perdition", was that God picked his "team" first. Also, I'm sorta a tad fed up with Sam's self-involvement on the show.

Thanks for the spelling correction, I went and fixed it. Actually, it was a freudian slip I'm a big Sheppard/McKay fan from Stargate and fandom has sorta overwhelmed my mind :)

wow. That was... biting. If you know what I mean. I had had similar thoughts about Sam realising that God chose Dean but I hadn't connected Sam with the devil like you had. It's very intense and good.

Thank you.I'm thrilled you liked the analogy, I was worried it was getting a bit convoluted :)
