That is really fucked up. Mostly because this year has been tremendously hard, and it really makes you wonder how the committees actually DO make these decisions. If it's not extracurriculars, SAT scores, transcripts, then what is it? I mean, I've known a lot of worthy kids who've been let down, and a lot of unworthy kids who've been let in... and no one really knows why. This just adds to the confusion. What is an "ideal candidate" nowadays, anyway?
